Hi Rae,

1 stick of butter here in the States is equal to 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons. Hope this helps.

One problem butter is not sold by the stick where I live it is sold by weight in grams which is almost a pound. I can buy margarine in 1/2 cup cubes but this doesn’t help as I have no concept of what a stick of butter looks like. Please is it 1/2 cup 1/3 cup or more or less than these.
