Welcome to the new website!!

I can’t believe it’s finally finished but thanks to the hard work  by Lindsay at Purr Design my new website is up and running. It will take some time for me to get used to WordPress but I am excited to see all of the great things it has to offer.

Something for you to check out:  Click on the Recipes tab up on the top right side of the blog and see the new recipe index.  Click on any of the categories to view photos and links to every single recipe I have on my site.  Having more than 900 recipes made it difficult for people to find their favorites but that is no longer a problem with this awesome recipe index!

Also, how cool is the new header?  Watch it for a minute and see the picture change a couple of times.  Love it!!!

The downside to switching to the new WordPress blog is that all of you, my loyal readers & followers through Blogger, will no longer be getting an e-mail notification when I post a new recipe.  If you would like to continue getting these notifications, which I really hope you do, simply follow me through the RSS or e-mail link in the upper right-hand corner of the website.  You can also follow me through Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest as well.

Another downside is that we were unable to transfer the comments from the last 25+ posts, so I am sorry that those recipes won’t have the wonderful feedback that my other recipes have.  A small price to pay for a great new site.

I hope you enjoy the new website as much as I do.  I really wanted to make it as reader-friendly as possible and I think Lindsay has done a terrific job!

I’ll be back to posting a new recipe on Wednesday, until then, sit back and check out the new site!

Cheers,

Pam

  1. I love your new site Pam! It looks amazing and your new header rocks!!! I was wondering why my blogger dashboard showed 6 new recipes from you. I was thinking of switching over to wordpress before I got to many posts on blogger. Everyone seems to think that wordpress is better and worth switching over to. I also love how you can reply to readers comments with wordpress. Is it easier to navigate or is it to soon to know?

Just so you know this post showed up in my blogger dashboard so it may still work for those of us following you via blogger. I get Smitten Kitchen’s and 101 cookbook’s updates in my dashboard as well so maybe you don’t have to just be on blogger anymore.

Can’t wait to navigate the new site.

  2. Congrats on the new site, it’s beautiful!
I very briefly used blogger when I started out before switching to WordPress. I *love* WordPress, it took a little bit for me to get totally comfortable using it, but I love all the extra features and customization you can do with it.

  3. Ooh, I love the new look! I knew something was coming up when I saw the RSS settings change and I’m loving it. I feel like I need to set some time aside checking your archives for recipes you posted before I started following last year.

  4. congratulations!! i’m stoked for you, it looks awesome! your next step should be a book because you’ve got amazing recipes!

  5. Congratulations Pam! The new site looks great! I agree with you that the new “recipes” tab (cataloging by photos) is an awesome way to cruise for recipes! Here’s to your continued success! 🙂

  6. Love the new Look!!! Fresh and clean.
Girl…when I switched from Blogger to wordpress, I lost HALF of my subscribers and my google page rank went from a 4 to a ZERO. It was very depressing. My page rank is back up..but I will never get back those subscribers 🙁
Can I give a bit of feedback?? Will you hate me if I do? Please don’t.
I would have never looked up in the upper right hand corner to see your recipe/about/faq tab unless you prompted me to. The font is just so tiny and white, it just didn’t catch my eye. You should totally put it right under your header picture so everyone can see you have a recipes tab. You have sooooo many wonderful recipes to browse through!

    1. Thank you for being honest Leslie! I think you are right and I have a message in to my designer to see what we can do it make it more obvious!

  11. Pam what an awesome site! I am working on combing my website with my blog as well!
Glad to see all your recipes are nice and organized! Wow 900 meals! Lord woman you have been busy!

  12. Love the new site Pam! I had no idea you had 900 recipes! No wonder your site is so extensive! Being a loyal follower since 2009, and having just purchased a cookbook from another famous recipe blog, I’m dying to know: do you have any plans to release a cookbook? If so, when? I would love to purchase it for myself and gifts for others. Keep up the good work, your blog is truly amazing. I haven’t made a single recipe of yours that didn’t turn out just as you described. Thank you!!!

  13. Love the new look. I just spent a few minutes looking through the recipe index. It is so much easier to find them now.

  14. This is wonderful! You are definitely one of my favorite recipe bloggers, but I have struggled trying to find a certain recipe in the past. Not anymore! Great Work!!

  15. Your new website is great. Recipes are easy to find.
I was looking for salad dressing and found your Spinach Salad with Soy-Ginger Dressing. Its an older post (August 2009), I couldn’t access the comments – don’t know if that is a problem?
Anyway, I what I really wanted to let you know we were just looking at the Seasons & Regions website because we’re going there tomorrow again (yum!) and I see they have posted the actual recipe you used as your inspiration. I don’t know if its a permanent post, but you will find it here – http://seasonsandregions.com/chefspage.asp

  16. LOVE! I was just popping in for another tried and true recipe and was elated to find you redesigned your website! Isn’t it such a huge endeavor? Congrats on getting it done. Looks great!
