Pumpkin Butter Pop Tarts

Pumpkin Butter Pop Tarts

My kids have been loving pumpkin butter lately and I thought that they would really love it in a homemade pumpkin butter pop tart. I grabbed some premade pie crusts and let the kids cut out fun Halloween pictures & words on the little pop-tarts that they rolled out. We slathered them with pumpkin butter then sprinkled the tops with a bit of coarse sugar and baked them. The kids enjoyed eating one while doing their reading and the rest after dinner. It was an easy, fun, and festive after-school project to do together and we all had a great time.

How to Make Pumpkin Butter Pop Tarts

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silpat mat.

Place the pie crust on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into squares. Cut fun Halloween pictures or words on side of the squares.

Spoon a bit of the pumpkin butter on the other side of the square, making sure not to go to the edges. Fold the dough in half and gently seal the edges with your fingers. Take a fork and crimp the edges of the pop tart closed. Using a knife, carefully trim off the uneven edges.

If you didn’t do any cutout words or pictures slice two little vents into the top of each pop tart. Brush the tops of each pop tart with the egg wash. Sprinkle each pop tart with raw sugar.
