Christmas Pretzels

Christmas Pretzels

These Christmas pretzels were super easy to make and were a fun and festive treat to surprise my kids with. I made these Christmas pretzels for this week’s school lunch treat and I had a hard time stopping myself from eating them. I dipped them in both semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate then sprinkled some with Christmas sprinkles and others with crushed candy canes. My kids (and husband) thought they were delicious and so did I.

How to Make Christmas Pretzels

Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl along with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and cook in the microwave, at half power, for 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate chips then continue to cook for 30 seconds, then stir again. If the chips are not melted yet, continue to cook for 10 seconds, then stir again. Continue that process until the chips are melted and creamy while making sure not to overcook them or the chocolate will burn. Set aside.

Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl along with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil and cook in the microwave, at half power, for 30 seconds. Stir the chocolate chips then continue to cook for 30 seconds, then stir again. If the chips are not melted yet, continue to cook for 10 seconds, then stir again. Continue that process until the chips are melted and creamy while making sure not to overcook them or the chocolate will burn. Set aside.

Place a large sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Dip the pretzels, one at a time, in the chocolate or white chocolate using a fork then gently tap the fork until the excess chocolate has dripped off. Place them on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle each pretzel with the sprinkles or crushed candy canes immediately, before the chocolate sets. Let them cool until hardened before serving, wrapping, or eating them. Enjoy!
