The Best Blue Cheese Dressing

The Best Blue Cheese Dressing

This is seriously the best blue cheese dressing I’ve ever had–including both homemade and store-bought. I noticed my son hasn’t been using our normal house salad dressing on his salads lately so I suggested making him some homemade blue cheese dressing which made him smile because he loves blue cheese. I found this recipe on The Spruce Eats that deemed it to be the best recipe around so I gave it a try. I loved the tang from the buttermilk and the umami from the Worcestershire sauce but the best part was the big chunks of blue cheese throughout the dressing. My son and I both really LOVE this blue cheese dressing and think it is indeed the best!

How to Make The Best Blue Cheese Dressing

Whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, and buttermilk until well combined. Add the Worcestershire sauce, sugar, dry mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt then whisk until well combined.

Add the blue cheese crumbles and gently stir to combine. Seal and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving but overnight is even better. Enjoy!

  1. Love blue cheese dressing! And although we like our recipe, it’s one of the few dressings I sometimes buy from the supermarket (those dressings that are refrigerated are pretty good). Your dressing looks excellent — a lot of neat flavor twists. Gotta try it! Thanks.

  2. I made this today! Sooo good!
And we’re having it liberally drizzled on Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. Oh, can’t wait for dinner…
    Thank you, Pam
