Ingredients

Peanut Butter Batter:

  • 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

Chocolate Batter:

  • 3/4 cup + 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (for sprinkling on top of batter right before baking)

Instructions

Peanut Butter Batter:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Make the peanut butter batter by combining the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl; stir until mixed well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and peanut butter; whisk very well until creamy and smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until just combined. Set aside.

Chocolate Batter:

  • Make the chocolate batter by combining the flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl; stir until mixed well. 
  • In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract together; whisk very well until creamy and smooth. 
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix with a rubber spatula until just combined. 
  • Pour the chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth it out with a rubber spatula. 
  • Pour the peanut butter batter on top of the chocolate batter. 
  • Use a table knife to gently swirl the two batters together. 
  • Sprinkle the top with chocolate chips right before baking. 
  • Place into the oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. 
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. 
  • Slice and serve. Enjoy.
