Oven-Baked "Fried" Pickles

Servings: 12 pickle slices


  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1/2 cup plain panko crumbs
  • 12 pickle slices

  • Preheat your oven to broil with the rack in the center of the oven. Line a baking sheet with tin foil then coat with cooking spray.
  • Make the chipotle ranch, if desired. Click here for the recipe.
  • Combine the flour with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper; mix well. Side Note: Be careful not to add too much salt because the pickles will already be salty.
  • Dip the pickle slices into the flour mixture; then dip into the beaten egg, finally coat evenly with the panko crumbs. Place onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining pickle slices.
  • Place into the oven and broil for 3-4 minutes under the broiler, making sure to watch carefully so they don't burn. Flip the pickles over and cook under the broiler for another 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve with the chipotle ranch, if desired. Enjoy.
