Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Topped with Sea Salt
Amazing. That is the word I would use to describe these delicious cookies. I found this recipe on The Curvy Carrot and couldn’t wait to try it. I loved the chewy peanut butter cookies with the dark chocolate chips topped with a sprinkling of sea salt. The combination of flavors was wonderful together! My kids thought the salt was pretty tasty and my friends who were also over loved them too. If you love the salty/sweet combination – these cookies are a must-try!
How to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies Topped with Sea Salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with a silpat mat.
Cream together the butter, sugars, egg, peanut butter, and vanilla with a mixer until light and fluffy.
Combine the flour with the baking soda and baking powder – mix well. Slowly add the flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture until well combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix well. Place spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Place into the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the top Fleur de sel, to taste (Sea salt). Let cool for a few minutes then move to a wire rack to continue cooling. Serve with ice-cold milk & enjoy!

I love these cookies Pam I have a question normally I dont have peanut butter what can I use??
I do love the sweet and salty combination. These look lovely.
Amazing 🙂 So yummy looking cookies!
They look absolutely beautiful! I made a recipe of yours tonight….bean and bacon soup. We loved it!
These may taste good but the thought of peanut butter in them which I hate puts me off making them!! Have a great day Diane
The first time I was handed a chocolate cookies with sea salt on it, I almost brushed the salt off of it!! LOL I’m SOOOO glad I didn’t.. I would have been missing an entirely new way to enjoy chocolate!
These look and sound yummy! I love peanut butter and chocolate, and I imagine the sea salt really makes the flavors pop!
These sound wonderful! I was already planning to make peanut butter cookies today and I can hardly wait to try them with the salt now. Thanks!!
UAU Pam!!!
I could have 2 or more, right now with my cup of tea!!!
Cheers and hope you have a fantastic weekend,
Lia.

I need a plate of these 🙂 Yum. Have a great weekend!
Wow, these cookies look absolutely perfect! And that sprinkle of sea salt is just amazing!
Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies sound just wonderful. I’m not sure I could go for the sea salt on top, because I don’t like salt at all. But I’m betting everyone else in the house would love it!
I kind of feel like I’ve made this exact recipe but without the sea salt…what was I thinking???
I made these today for a girls’ night I am having. They taste good, but one thing that was strange is that they don’t look like yours. I used a cookie scoop, and they didn’t flatten out much–instead they were puffed up. I had to press them down and they just don’t look as nice as yours. Any idea what went wrong?
Erin,
I am not sure what happened. I didn’t use a scoop, just spooned some dough on the baking sheet with a regular spoon and I didn’t flatten them down… they just naturally turned out like that. I am sorry yours were more puffy – I am glad they still tasted good.
Cheers,
Pam
I just made a batch of these, and I also had the problem of the puffing up with the first batch. I just flattened them with a fork the next time, and they turned out fine!
They look fantastic! I’d never to be able to stop at one or two!
Those sound wonderful. Not sure how much cooking I’ll do now, but I can do some for the group home that Norm’s in which is good.
Literally just pulled a batch out of the oven. I could hardly wait for them to cool…these are delicious. What I love about them is that they are not as strong as the store bought cookies. They have a mild peanut butter taste and I used semi sweet mini chocolate chips (all I had on hand). They turned out great and I will be making them again! Thanks for the great recipe!
i have everything i need to make these cookies, oh i’m SO tempted!
These cookies look wonderful! I have tried several other of your recipes and loved them. Cant wait to try this one too!
I made these tonight. Delicious! Mine also stayed as little puff balls instead of flattening out. I think it was because I rolled the dough into balls instead of just scooping.
sea salt + pb + choc = deliciousness!!! yum!
Peanut butter and chocolate! A killer combination!
We are BIG on peanut butter and chocolate in our house, but I’ve NEVER thought of the salty addition…brilliant!!
i see plenty of chips in these, which is always a very good thing. the sprinkling of salt is an essential and lovely touch!
I am seriously in the mood for those cookies right now! Lots of chunks in them the way I love cookies!
I’ve been on a kick for salted caramel lately so I bet these would hit the spot for me.
Suppose you don’t have a silpat mat. Would you use a greased or ungreased cookie sheet?
I would coat it with cooking spray to be safe.
Cheers,
Pam
Attempted to make these. Am a horrible cook. Even forgot the brown sugar. Still came out miraculously amazing. Thank you so much. For more commentary check out my post: http://officestace.com/2012/09/just-a-spoonful-of-sugar-oops/
Just made these today!! I followed the recipe – and they came out wonderfully. Thank you for the recipe. 🙂 Like the person above – they were so good, I had to share this as well, haha: http://jennymao.wordpress.com/2012/11/29/recipe-peanut-butter-dark-chocolate-chip-cookies-topped-with-sea-salt/
Amazing recipe if you are looking for some flavourful chocolate chip cookies, but to be honest I found that they lacked PB taste! I would recommend adding more. Probably wont use this recipe again for PB cookies, but it makes really nice moist cookies and is super easy.
I just made these cookies and they are delicious. I traded 1/3 of the flour for oats and it turned out PERFECT. Thanks!
