Combine the butter, basil, and garlic and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
Remove the husk and silk from each ear of corn, then rinse with water.
Heat a large pot of well-salted water over high heat, and add a tablespoon of white sugar to the water.
Once the water is boiling, add the corn on the cob.
Cook for 3-4 minutes, then remove from the water. Side Note: Some people boil their corn for a long time, but I find it to be mushy and unappetizing. Corn only needs to be boiled for a few minutes–it turns out crisp, juicy, and delicious!
Slather the corn with the basil garlic butter, then season with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste.
