Sweet and Spicy Steak Rub

  • 1 tbsp coarse kosher salt
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cornstarch


  • Combine the coarse salt, brown sugar, freshly cracked black pepper, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, and cornstarch together in a small bowl; mix well.
  • Season steaks liberally on all sides at least a few hours before cooking or grilling.
  • Store in a sealed jar. Enjoy.
