Tzatziki Sauce
I wanted to make a batch of tzatziki sauce for some gyros I was making for dinner. I found an Ina Garten recipe that looked perfect. It took only a few minutes to make and turned out delicious. It was tangy, creamy, and flavorful – I loved the texture. This sauce is great for sandwiches and as a dip for pita chips or veggies and it tasted fantastic in the gyros I made for dinner.
How to Make Tzatziki Sauce
Place the yogurt in a bowl. Grate the cucumber and squeeze the grated cucumber with your hand to remove some of the liquid. Add the cucumber pulp to the yogurt along with the sour cream, lemon juice and zest, vinegar, dill, garlic, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper, to taste; stir. Place into the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes prior to serving so flavors have time to mingle. Enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 7 oz containers of Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber peeled and seeded
- ¼ cup sour cream

There’s nothing quite like a good tzatziki sauce. I could put it on everything!
Oh yum! I bet it was fabulous in your gyros. Delicious!
Yummy, and refreshing!!!
XO Kris
yum, yum, yum. this is one of my favorite sauces–it’s absolutely the most refreshing combination of ingredients around!
So much better than store bought!
I love Tzatziki sauce!! It goes well with just about anything!!
There is no dill in real tzaziki, nor is there sour cream, vinegar or lemon juice. Replace these 4 ingredients with 3-4 tablespoons of the best olive oil you can get your hands on and you have real tzaziki.
Sounds delicious!!
Are you planning on posting the gyros recipe?? I hope so!
It’s always great to find a way to make something you like and don’t use all the time from ingredients on hand! Excellent work.
