Taco French Bread Pizza
It was one of those days—I had a lot going on and no energy for dinner so I grabbed some French bread hoagie rolls, ground beef, and an avocado from the store and threw together this easy taco French bread pizza recipe in under 30 minutes. The flavor combination was awesome and I loved the crispy on the outside but soft on the inside French bread, along with the flavorful beef, salty cheese, and spicy salsa. While my daughter prefers regular crusted pizza, the rest of us thought these taco French bread pizzas were super tasty.
Taco French Bread Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1-2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 very small sweet yellow onion, diced (or 1/2 a large)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp coriander
- ½ tsp oregano
- Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
- 1 large clove of garlic, minced
- 4 French bread hoagies, cut in half lengthwise
- Refried beans, to taste
- Sharp cheddar, shredded
- Sliced black olives
- Grape tomatoes, diced
Serving:
- Green onion, diced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Avocado, diced
- Salsa
How to Make Taco French Bread Pizza
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Coat a baking sheet with tin foil.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring often, for 5 minutes. Add the ground beef, making sure to break it up into crumbles with the spatula as it cooks.
Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, coriander, and oregano to the beef along with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste. Cook until JUST cooked through, about 4-5 minutes. Spoon the beef onto a plate layered with a paper towel to drain any excess grease. Set aside.
Cut the hoagies in half lengthwise then coat each of them with a thin layer of refried beans.
Spoon the beef and onion mixture evenly on top of the hoagie’s halves. Top with shredded sharp cheddar, black olives, and diced tomatoes.
Place into the oven and bake for 4 minutes. Rotate the pizza tray and continue to cook for 4-5 minutes or until the pizza is crisp and the cheese is melted.
Serve with green onions, fresh cilantro, chopped avocado, and salsa. Enjoy.

Very creative. I used to LOVE Stouffers french bread pizzas as a young teen but haven’t had one in years and year. You reignited that craving!

I happen to have leftover taco beef and refried beans that I was going to freeze, but I made this instead and it is absolutely delicious and fun to eat as well.
