Homemade Old Bay Seasoning
This easy homemade old bay seasoning recipe has layers of complex flavors that make this iconic spice blend a household favorite for seasoning seafood, chicken, veggies, and potatoes.
My daughter asked for some Old Bay seasoning to make a recipe with her best friend. Instead of going out and buying some, I made this easy homemade Old Bay seasoning recipe that I found on Hangry Woman since I had all the spices needed. This spicy seasoning blend was easy to make and much less expensive than buying it from the store.
Homemade Old Bay Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp celery salt
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 3 whole bay leaves
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp mustard powder
- ⅛ tsp ginger
- ⅛ tsp allspice
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
How to Make Homemade Old Bay Seasoning
Place the celery salt, paprika, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, freshly cracked black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg in a spice grinder or food processor.
Blend until very well combined and the bay leaves are crushed.
Store in an airtight container in a cool dark place for up to a few months. Enjoy.
