½lbspaghetticooked per instructions, reserving ¾ cup of cooking liquid
3tbspolive oildivided
½lbraw shrimpdeveined and tails removed
Sea salt and freshly cracked pepperto taste
7-8clovesof garlicminced
Dash of crushed red pepper flakesor more if desired
¼cupof fresh basilchopped
¼cupof fresh parsleychopped
Finely grated Parmesanto taste
Instructions
Prepare the spaghetti in a large pot of well-salted water according to the package instructions. Drain, reserving ¾ cup of cooking liquid.
Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Season the shrimp with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste.
Cook the shrimp by placing them in the skillet and cooking for 1-2 minutes. Flip over and cook for 1 minute, or until they are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet.
Add the remaining olive oil to the same skillet, then add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
Finish by adding the cooked noodles and most of the reserved cooking liquid to the skillet along with the shrimp. Season with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste, then add the fresh basil and parsley.
Mix evenly, then serve with grated Parmesan. Enjoy.
