Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat or all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree **Not pumpkin pie filling
  • ⅓ cup peanut butter **Side Note: Remember to double-check that your peanut butter does NOT contain Xylitol. This sweetener is highly toxic to dogs.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a Silpat mat or parchment paper.
  • Place the flour, pumpkin, and peanut butter in a large bowl until combined.
  • Working on a piece of floured parchment paper or a flat surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to ¼-inch thickness.
  • Using dog treat cutters, cut out desired shapes, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake until golden brown and crisp, for about 30-35 minutes.
  • Cool completely on a wire cooling rack.  
  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer or refrigerator. Enjoy.
