White Chocolate Chip Orange Cookies
My husband recently had an orange-flavored cookie with white chocolate chips at work and he really loved it. He asked me to please try recreating it for him. I made these cookies using a Cook’s Illustrated cookie base and they turned out really delicious. We had friends over for dinner that night and these white chocolate chip orange cookies were a hit for the kids and adults – especially my husband. Easy to make and taste great – my kind of treat.
How to Make White Chocolate Chip Orange Cookies
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silpat mat.
Combine together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
Using a hand beater or stand mixer, beat the butter, sugars, and orange zest together until thoroughly blended. Beat in the egg, extra yolk, and vanilla until well combined. Slowly add the dry ingredients and beat at low speed until just combined. Stir in MOST of the white chocolate chips.
Form small spoonfuls of dough into balls and place them on the baking sheet 2 ½ inches apart. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Place into the oven and bake until the cookies are light golden brown, the outer edges start to harden, and the centers are still soft and puffy, about 15-18 minutes, making sure to rotate the baking sheet halfway through baking time. Remove from the oven and gently press a few white chocolate chips into the top of each cookie, if needed. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool. Enjoy.

I’ve seen orange paired with chocolate before, but never white chocolate! Definitely a flavor combo I need to try.
