Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing

While having lunch with a friend recently, I had a green salad with lots of veggies drizzled with a wonderful creamy poppy seed dressing and it was so delicious. I found a recipe on Mom’s Need to Know that sounded really tasty. I adapted it a bit by using less sugar because we don’t like super sweet salad dressings. I re-created it for lunch today and it couldn’t have been easier to make because I had all of the ingredients on hand – I love it when that happens. The dressing was sweet, tangy, and creamy and tasted really fantastic over the crisp green salad. We finally had a sunny day today so eating this salad outside in the sunshine made it taste even better!

How to Make Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing

Combine the mayonnaise, milk, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper, to taste, together in a bowl. Whisk until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to mingle. Serve drizzled over green salad loaded with your favorite veggies. Store tightly sealed in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2-3 tsp sugar to taste (more if desired)
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • ½ - 1 tbsp poppy seeds to taste

  2. In your picture it looks like the finished salad dressing filled a pint jar. I’m just curious, how much salad dressing did your finished recipe make? In my kitchen I use quart jars for everything. If your recipe makes a pint of salad dressing then doubling the recipe should make a quart of dressing. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
