Strawberry Banana Dog Treats
We recently ran out of dog treats so I went in search of some inspiration and found a recipe on The Cozy Cook for these strawberry banana dog treats that looked perfect – especially since I had everything on hand. The dough was very sticky and I ended up using a bit more flour than the recipe called for but other than that kept it the same. I made these treats nice and thin and cooked them well so they had a nice crunch. Grace went crazy for these tasty treats and made sure to get every last crumb while trying them fresh from the oven.
How to Make Strawberry Banana Dog Treats
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the flour, oats, mashed banana, peanut butter, and strawberries together until well combined.
If the dough is too sticky, add more flour as needed.
Working on a floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Use more flour as needed.
Use a dog treat cutter to cut out the desired shape and place it onto the prepared baking sheet.
Place into oven and bake until the edges are golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
Store in a sealed container for 3-4 days or in a zip lock bag in the freezer. Enjoy.

Now if only we had a dog Happy Friday, Diane
What dog wouldn’t love these? Never thought of using strawberries with the peanut butter.
What flour can I use to make them grain free? One of my dogs has allergies

Cindy,
I’ve only used regular flour so I’m not sure. I found an article that may help you:

Do you think it’s possible to just shape the dough instead of using cutter? Like those chocolate chip cookies that is fat in the middle. I hope you understand what I mean
Ivy,
Yes, I think that should be just fine. I would do small ball portions then flatten them with your hand or a spatula before baking. I hope your pup enjoys them!!

Ok so tomorrow will be my first day making these. What would u say would be a expiration date . Like how long will they be good for in a sealed container.
Jessica,
I’ve had mine last up to two months in an airtight ziplock freezer bag, although my dog usually eats them all before then. You can also keep them in the fridge but keep an eye on them after a couple of weeks. They will only be good for 3-4 days if you store them on the counter.

Thank you! How long can they last in the freezer for?
Ashley,
I’ve had them in there for a couple months (airtight container or Freezer Ziplock).

Easy recipe to make your furry friends happy and know that they are loved. I used more flour than it called for, but I used more strawberries than it called for also. The dogs were licking their lips. Thanks Pam for the recipe.
Delores,
I’m so happy your dogs were happy with the treats! Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
