Apple Cranberry Sauce

This spiced apple cranberry sauce makes a classic Thanksgiving side dish extra special and it’s so simple to make!

Apple Cranberry Sauce

I wanted to test out a new tasty-looking apple cranberry sauce recipe that I found on Eatwell 101 before the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts so I made a small batch. I loved the bits of apple along with the burst cranberries and the cinnamon and clove paired so nicely with the fruit. My daughter kept telling me how wonderful the apple cranberry sauce smelled while it simmered on the stove and we both thought it tasted delicious too.

How to Make Apple Cranberry Sauce

Combine the cranberries, apple, sugar, water, maple syrup, cinnamon stick, and a pinch of clove in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the fruit to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries pop about 10-15 minutes.

Remove the cinnamon stick and allow it to cool down. Refrigerate in an airtight container until needed. Enjoy.
