Prime Rib Seasoning Rub
This easy prime rib seasoning rub recipe uses basic pantry ingredients and is the perfect way to season a prime rib roast, to ensure it’s flavorful and tender.

I normally season my prime rib roast as my dad used to, but this year I wanted to try making a homemade prime rib rub. I found this simple beef roast dry rub recipe on The Recipe Critic that looked tasty & used seasonings I had on hand. Quick, simple, and so flavorful–I love that!
Prime Rib Seasoning Rub
- 3 tbsp Kosher salt
- 2 tbsp coarse cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp paprika (or smoked paprika)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp dried thyme

How to Make a Prime Rib Seasoning Rub
Combine the kosher salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, parsley, and thyme in a small glass jar.
Seal with a lid and shake well to mix.
Season your prime rib evenly before roasting.
Store in a dark, cool place in an airtight container for 2-3 months.
