Chocolate-Cherry Blondies
I found this easy chocolate-cherry blondies recipe in a recent Everyday Food that looked perfect for my kids. These homemade blondies were gooey, flavorful, and a huge hit for their after-school snack. My kids said they loved the tart cherries with the rich chocolate–I have a feeling my husband is really going to love them too.
Chocolate-Cherry Blondies
Ingredients:
- 1 ¼ cup + 1½ tbsp of flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 stick of unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- ⅓ cup of white sugar
- ½ cup of brown sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup of dried cherries

How to Make Chocolate-Cherry Blondies

Combine the flour with the baking soda and salt then mix well.
Using a hand mixer, beat the sugars and butter until creamy and smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla then beat until mixed thoroughly.
Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until combined.
Add the cherries and chocolate chips and mix. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Place into the oven and bake for 28 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

Count me in for gooey brownies and blondies! These look yummy, and I love the changes you made to the original recipe. Baking with whole wheat flour somehow makes things feel like they are healthier! 😉

They look so good. Really delicious treat!
I like cherries in almost anything, so I’d eat these. On a rare day when I eat sweets, but I’d definitely eat these.
I can already taste the cherry and chocolate combination, but I’d leave out the raisins. Not a fan.
