Trail Mix

I was in the process of buying some trail mix packets at the store when I realized two things: store-bought trail mix is expensive, and I already had all the ingredients for this tasty homemade trail mix recipe at home in my pantry. I made a batch of this homemade snack mix and gave my kids a little bowl for an after-school treat, and they loved it. I packaged the rest into snack-sized Tupperware (about 1/4 cup in each). Now I have some pre-made snacks available to throw in the kids’ backpacks in the morning, and I didn’t spend a fortune on them–I love that!

Homemade trail mix always gets my creative juices flowing, Pam. I use to love making it for the kids when they were in school. Why oh why do I never make it for myself? This too must change:) Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration!
I love homemade trail mix! Yours has all my favourite ingredients. Excellent!
It seems I must seek to make it at home, not just see it delights
Fabulous and so healthy Pam!!
Fabulous that you thought of making it yourself.
Cheers,
Lia.
I love this stuff but have never made my own – I like using the berries rather than all raisins.
I always buy trail mix but I really should just make it myself!
Love this simple, quick trail mix, Pam! Perfectly easy to customize with whatever you like, too.
look really delicious Pam!!
I think I might have most of the ingredients for this in my pantry too. Great idea Pam!!
That looks so good!
Great thinking. Good thing you looked into your pantry.
i’ve taken up hiking because my boyfriend loves it, and we both enjoy a nutty snack at the summit. 🙂
This recipe is not only delicious, easy and healthy – but it also helps me clear out those random bits of nuts hanging around in the pantry!
Brooke,
That’s how I clean out my pantry too! So glad you enjoy this trail mix recipe. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
