Why oh why did it take me SO long to make homemade applesauce? I can’t believe how utterly simple it is to make and how happy it made my children. I cooked the apples for a little longer to ensure the applesauce would be very smooth when I blended it. This cinnamon applesauce had a nice sweet/tart flavor with a touch of cinnamon and the texture was smooth and creamy. Both of my kids LOVED it and said they didn’t want store-bought applesauce again. After trying a bite, I don’t blame them! It was delicious.
How to Make Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce
Peel and dice the apples and place them into the saucepan.
Add the apple juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon to the apples then stir to mix thoroughly. Cook the apples over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 30-35 minutes.
Remove from the heat and blend with an immersion blender until smooth and creamy. Taste and add more sugar, if needed. Serve warm or cold. Enjoy.
