My kids were home from school for a snow/ice day yesterday due to bad road conditions. My kids and a friend were all bundled up playing outside so I decided to make them a nice warm sandwich for lunch. I had some pizza sauce in the fridge along with some mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. I decided to make a grilled cheese extra special by using pizza ingredients. My kids and their friend all loved these sandwiches and deemed them blog-worthy.
How to Make a Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of a piece of bread then place it into the skillet butter side down. Spoon some pizza sauce on the bread and spread it evenly. Sprinkle on some shredded mozzarella, then layer it with pepperoni slices, and then a bit more mozzarella.
Lightly butter the remaining piece of bread on one side then spread a bit more sauce on the other, place it on top of the sandwich. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Slice in half and serve immediately. Enjoy!
