Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies
I made this easy mini chocolate M&M cookies recipe for the kids’ school lunch treat this week. Who can resist little buttery chocolate cookies with cute mini M&M’s? My kids loved these cookies, especially warm right from the oven.
Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp flour
- 2 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ¾ tsp vanilla
- ¾ cup mini M&M’s (plus a few extra for after baking)
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (plus a few extra for after baking)
How to Make Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silpat mat.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl.
Beat the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar with a hand mixer until creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla; beat until creamy.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until combined. Add the mini M&M’s and mini chocolate chips to the batter then stir to combine. Place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Form the cookie dough into teaspoon-sized balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
Place into the oven and bake for 8 minutes or until the edges are crisp but the centers are still soft.
Remove from the oven and immediately gently press a few mini M&M’s & mini chocolate chips to the top of each cookie. Side Note: This is an optional step, but it does make the cookies look extra pretty.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to continue cooling. Serve with ice-cold milk. Enjoy!
