Margherita Pita Pizza
My kids were hungry for a snack this weekend, so I made this healthy and easy Margherita pita pizza recipe that took less than 15 minutes to make and bake. My kids devoured this healthy snack in minutes and loved every single bite.
Margherita Pita Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 pita
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Baby heirloom tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil, chopped
How to Make a Margherita Pita Pizza
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Drizzle some olive oil on the pita bread and spread it around evenly. Season with sea salt, freshly cracked pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes, to taste.
Sprinkle some parmesan on top of the pita followed by a bit of mozzarella, then place the tomato slices on top.
Place the pita pizza into the oven and bake for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil; slice.
Serve with grated parmesan on the side. Enjoy.
