Sweet and Salty Chocolate Bark
What a fun afternoon project! My kids wanted something different for this week’s school lunch treat. I decided to make some fun and festive chocolate bark with lots of M & M’s, sprinkles, and salty pretzel. It was made within 10 minutes and only needed to be refrigerated for 15 minutes to set. I wrapped the individual broken pieces in saran wrap and stored them in a covered plastic container in the refrigerator. My kids were absolutely thrilled with this fun and tasty treat and I loved that it was done within 30 minutes!
How to Make Sweet and Salty Chocolate Bark
Melt 6 bars of almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl following the instructions on the package.
After the almond bark has melted, pour onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and spread evenly using a rubber spatula.
Scattered pretzels, M&M’s, and sprinkles all over the melted almond bark.
Place the chocolate chips in a glass bowl then put them into the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir then place back into the microwave for 15 seconds. Remove and stir then place back into the microwave for 10 seconds. Remove and stir until completely melted. If needed, continue cooking for 10-second increments. Be careful not to overcook the chocolate! Spoon the chocolate into a small zip lock bag. Cut a super small hole in the corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate back and forth over the bark.
Place in refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes or until almond bark has hardened.
Break into small pieces and enjoy!

Gorgeous! I make cookies and candies to give away in tins at Christmas. This is definitely on my list to make! (BTW, there is a small typo you might want to correct: “…and drizzle the white chocolate back and forth over the bark.” )
Thank you!
Looks like a perfect Christmas treat
Ooooooo delicious. Have a great week Diane
I’ve seen bark made with melting chips, but I’ve never seen the almond bark you showed in your picture! It’s exciting! (how dull my life is, if candy is exciting.) I’m sure your kids loved these lunch box treats, and the other kids doubtless wanted to trade with them!
So pretty – perfect for the holidays.
Simple to make, and yet so festive and gorgeous!
Where do you get the almond bark?
Diane,
I got mine at my local Safeway but I’ve also seen it at Target too.

i love pretzels in treats like this–that crunch and saltiness is not to be skipped!
Mmm…sweet and salty…the best of both worlds!
