Taco Seasoning
I make Mexican food often, and we all love tacos, but I have never been a fan of store-bought taco seasoning. After several adaptations, this easy homemade taco seasoning recipe is the final version we all like. I use this taco seasoning recipe for 1 pound of ground beef, but it also works great with ground turkey, chicken, and pork. This taco seasoning is simple to make in advance, and it stores well in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Homemade is so much fresher and cheaper!
So if you use this instead of the package, how much should you use?
I am not sure what you mean? You add the entire amount of this recipe when cooking one pound of ground meat.
I hope this helps.

Commercial taco seasoning has way too much salt, and often has a weird after-taste, too. Making your own is the best! And yours really looks good — nice combo of ingredients. 🙂
Great recipe to have on hand. Making several batches would make sense also to same time. Store bought taco seasoning usually has too much salt for my taste. Your recipe looks just right.
It’s always good to know what’s in your seasonings – none of that stuff you can’t pronounce!
I actually made taco seasoning recently as well and was amazed at how much tastier it was than storebought! We have tacos on the menu next week so I’ll have to try this.
I’m liking this seasoning a good bit – it has all of the flavors you’d expect in a great taco seasoning. I like to sneak a little corn starch into mine to help form a sauce when it mixes with the hot meat juices. Do you grind your red pepper flake up in a coffee or spice grinder first? The final version doesn’t seem to have any of the big flakes in it but has plenty of red specks.
