Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats
I made these peanut butter banana dog treats for our dog Grace recently and she was absolutely thrilled. I found the recipe on Damn Delicious and loved that these treats only have 4 ingredients. The dough reminded me of sticky oatmeal cookie dough so I flattened it out on a floured surface and used a cutter for the dog bones. Because the dough is so sticky, I greased a spatula to carefully transfer the dog bones to the baking sheet. The end results are worth the effort of being patient with the sticky dough. Grace devoured the first treat in seconds and was hoping for a second one which is always a great sign.
Side Note: Make sure the peanut butter you use doesn’t have Xylitol in it. It’s a sweetener used in many foods, including peanut butter, and is safe for humans but potentially deadly for dogs. If ingested, it can cause seizures, liver failure, and death, warned one animal hospital, which called xylitol “extremely toxic” to dogs.
How to Make Peanut Butter Banana Dog Treats
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine the oats, mashed bananas, peanut butter, and melted coconut oil in a large bowl. Mix until well combined then set aside for five minutes to allow the oats to soak up some of the liquids.
Place the dough on a floured surface and flatten it out with your hands or a greased rolling pin to 1/4-inch thickness. Using dog treat cutters, cut out desired shapes. Use a greased spatula to carefully move the treat to the prepared baking sheet.
Bake until the edges are golden brown, about 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the treat. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. The dog treats will harden more while cooling.
Store in an air-tight container in the freezer or refrigerator. Enjoy!

Lucky dog :-)) Have a good day, Pam!
My dog would love these.
Oh, Grace looks so happy! Those look really easy; I’m sure Thatcher and all of his dog-cousins would love these. I just finished making Thatcher a doggy jean jacket. He’s so happy being warmer!
