Glazed Strawberry Turnovers

Crispy and flaky puff pastry filled with sweet and tart strawberries then topped with a creamy vanilla glaze. These quick and easy turnovers make a tasty breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Glazed Strawberry Turnovers

My son wasn’t feeling well recently so I whipped these little beauties up for an afternoon treat. I love making things from scratch but puff pastry isn’t one of them so I always have a package in the freezer. I grabbed some strawberries from the fridge and used the zest from a tiny lemon from our indoor lemon tree–it was our first lemon! The turnovers were really simple to make and my kids thought they were very tasty.

How to Make Glazed Strawberry Turnovers

Take one puff pastry out of the freezer to thaw, per package instructions.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Gently toss together the strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon zest until well combined.

Gently roll out the puff pastry to be slightly larger then cut them into 4 squares.

Brush a thin layer of beaten egg on 2 joining sides of each square.

Divide the strawberry mixture between all squares then fold each square in half creating a triangle and gently seal the edges with your fingers or a fork. Transfer to the lined baking sheet.

Brush each turnover with the egg wash then sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

Glazed Strawberry Turnovers

Place into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove and allow to cool on a rack for a few minutes. Side Note: Place the rack of turnovers on top of parchment paper prior to glazing for easier cleanup.

Make the Glaze

Combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together in a bowl; mix until creamy and smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the turnovers. Serve and enjoy.
