I love making homemade spice blends, dry rubs, and seasoning salts because spices are expensive, and making them at home saves so much money. I found this spicy and flavorful Jamaican jerk seasoning recipe on  Jo Cooks and threw it together in minutes. The smell, spice, and flavor this rub gives chicken, pork, fish, and veggies is so delicious and addictive!

Jamaican Jerk Seasoning

Ingredients:

  • ½ tbsp onion powder
  • ½ tbsp  garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp dried parsley
  • ½ tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika or regular paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½-1 tsp cayenne pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper ground
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  •  ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼  tsp ground cumin

How to Make Jamaican Jerk Seasoning

Combine the onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, brown sugar, paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, thyme, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, crushed red pepper flakes, and cumin in a small glass jar; stir until well combined.

Store in an airtight jar in a dark cool place. Enjoy.
