Maple Crisp Brie Bites
Ingredients
- 10 slices of baguette, thinly sliced
Maple butter:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp real maple syrup (not artificial flavoured syrup–can sub honey)
- Pinch of sea salt flakes
Topping:
- 3 slices prosciutto (can use thinly sliced bacon)
- Small wedge of brie, cut into 10 slices while very cold, then left to come to room temperature
- 2 tbsp candied pecans, lightly toasted (can use regular pecans)
- Â 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

How to Make Maple Crisp Brie Bites
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the maple butter by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the maple syrup and salt, stir.
Bring to a simmer for 20-30 seconds, then remove from the heat.
Prepare the crostini by brushing some of the maple butter on both sides of each piece of baguette.
Place them on one end of the baking sheet.
Prepare the prosciutto by separating the slices and placing them on the other end of the baking sheet.

Place into the oven to bake for 10 minutes.
Flip crostini and prosciutto slices over and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until crispy.
Transfer the prosciutto to some paper towels to drain the fat; it will crisp as it cools. Break into shards.
Allow the crostini to cool on a wire cooling rack for 10 minutes.
Assemble the crostini by placing a slice of brie on each crostini.

Top the cheese with a shard of crispy prosciutto.

Next, add some chopped pecans, then drizzle some of the remaining warm maple butter, and a few thyme leaves.
Serve and enjoy.
