Tonkatsu Sauce
This easy homemade tonkatsu sauce recipe is rich, flavorful, and perfect for panko-crusted chicken and pork cutlets.
My kids love Asian food and I’ve always wanted to try making chicken katsu with tonkatsu sauce. I recently found a delicious recipe for the sauce on CopyKat Recipes that sounded tasty. Sometimes known as Japanese-style barbecue sauce or katsu sauce, this tonkatsu sauce is savory, sweet, and slightly tangy. In this recipe, ketchup adds the sugary tartness, while soy sauce and Worcestershire add umami. This delicious dipping sauce takes minutes to make and will make crispy panko-crusted chicken or pork a little more special.
