Apple Galette with Apple Cider Caramel Sauce
I decided to make this apple galette so I could use more of the apple cider caramel sauce I recently made. We’ve been loving the caramel sauce on ice cream but I decided to switch it up for dessert tonight and serve this apple galette drizzled with the caramel. YUM! The apple slices were coated in cinnamon and sugar so you can imagine how amazing this rustic little pie smelled while baking. I served the galette drizzled with apple cider caramel sauce and ice cream on the side. My entire family demolished this pie and we all thought it was so delicious. I also think it would make a terrific dessert for Thanksgiving.
How to Make an Apple Galette with Apple Cider Caramel Sauce
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the apple slices into a bowl and sprinkle the lemon juice on them and gently toss to coat the slices with the juice. Add the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the apples then toss to coat each slice of apple evenly.
Place the apple slices in a spiral inside the pie crust starting one inch from the edge. Fold the edge of the dough over the fruit. Brush the dough with the beaten egg. Sprinkle the edges with the raw sugar. Add the diced butter to the top of the apples.
Place into the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the galette from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Serve with the warm caramel sauce drizzled on top and with vanilla ice cream, if desired. Enjoy.

Galettes always look so attractive! I know they’re considered more “rustic” looking than a tart, but to me they have the best appearance of all the pie-like fruit offerings. Anyway, this looks wonderful — thanks.
