Lemon and Garlic Broccolini

Lemon and Garlic BroccoliniI picked up some broccolini at the store and I wanted to make a simple and healthy side dish. I found an Ellie Krieger recipe from the Food Network that sounded easy and delicious. I added some minced garlic to the dressing for added flavor. This recipe took only minutes to make and tasted fantastic! I will be making this recipe again and again.

Lemon and Garlic Broccolini:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz broccolini
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste

How to Make Lemon and Garlic Broccolini

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper, to taste. Whisk together until well combined. Set aside to allow flavors to mingle.

Wash and trim the broccolini then steam it for 5 minutes until it is crisp yet tender. Drizzle the dressing on top then toss until evenly combined. Serve immediately. Enjoy.

  1. i do this almost every ten days! That's the only way my hubby eats brocolli. But i did spontaneously, brocolli whispered me to how to cook them:) LOL!!!

  2. Thanks for posting this- definitely something everyone needs to know how to do. Surefire way to start with a vegetable and end up with something delicious.

  3. I love broccolini, and your lemon dressing sounds lovely! I "steam" my broccolini or broccoli in the microwave (in a bowl with a Tbsp. of water covered in waxed paper). I love to cook but hate the clean up!

  4. The simplicity of this recipe is what is perfect, that way you can enjoy the flavors of what you are eating instead of something heavy that masks the taste of the broccolini. Lovely recipe!

  5. This is such a delicious, healthy way to dress up a veggie side dish. Thanks for sharing, Pam! I'll definitely keep this in mind next time I have broccoli and am feeling uninspired!

  6. I love broccolini. It lacks the bitterness that broccoli sometimes has. Simple recipes are the best. 🙂
