Honey Garlic Shrimp
This honey garlic shrimp is sweet, salty, and loaded with garlic. I love that this recipe takes less than 30 minutes to make and uses ingredients that I normally have on hand. I surprised my kids with this honey garlic shrimp for lunch recently and they both really loved it–especially the sauce. I used some small frozen shrimp I had on hand but this recipe would also be great with larger shrimp. I served this tasty honey garlic shrimp over garlic rice and topped it with green onions and sesame seeds. Quick, easy, and delicious.
How to Make Honey Garlic Shrimp
Make some garlic rice. (Click the link for the recipe).
Make the marinade by combining the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and white pepper together; whisk until well combined.
Pour half of the marinade over the thawed shrimp and allow it to marinate for 20-30 minutes. Set aside the reserved marinade for later.
Remove the shrimp from the marinade and shake off excess liquid very well. Discard marinade.
Heat the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the hot pan and sear on one side for 1 minute then flip them over and sear on the other side for about 45 seconds. Remove from the skillet.
Add the reserved marinade to the hot skillet and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring often for about 2-3 minutes, or until reduced and thickened.
Add the shrimp back to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.
Serve the honey garlic shrimp over steamed rice then top with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy.

Plump shrimp with sweet garlicky flavours…absolutely delicious!
I’m sure we would enjoy this interesting flavor.
That sounds really good and so simple. Take care and keep safe, Diane
I love this dish at the Chinese restaurant and now I can make it at home with your recipe.
Looks wonderful Pam!! and delicious !! xo
Tasty and simple. Cut the marinade in half for economics and no need to waste the marinade as it’s later going to be cooked and sterilized in any case.
Thanks for the post.
James,
So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
