Reuben Sliders
I recently had some Reuben Sliders at a new local restaurant that I just LOVED. They were small and tasty – perfect for a light meal. I couldn’t wait to re-create them at home. I decided to cook them dry (without butter) to keep them a bit healthier and I must say I loved these little sandwiches. They weren’t greasy at all and they turned out perfectly toasted. These Reuben sliders couldn’t be easier to make and they taste fantastic!
Reuben Sliders:
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1-2 tsp sweet pickle relish
- Cocktail rye bread
- Pastrami
- Sauerkraut
- Swiss cheese
How to Make Reuben Sliders
Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish together in a small bowl and mix really well. Spread a bit of the ketchup mixture on each slice of cocktail rye bread. Layer one slice of bread with pastrami then add a bit of sauerkraut (make sure to squeeze the excess juice out over the sink), then top with some Swiss cheese and the other slice of bread.
Preheat a skillet over medium heat then add the sandwiches. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until crisp and golden brown then flip over and continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Isn't that ketchup mixture just good old Thousand Island dressing? I know that's what I've always used…
So happy (and slightly jealous lol) for the winner of the apron! The sliders look so good!

Ruben sliders…love it!! Would have never thought to do this. 🙂
Congratulations to Vickie!!
I've passed those little loaves of tea breads a kazillion times in the bakery aisle! Why haven't I thought of little slider sandwiches! I love Reubens … what a great party idea! Thanks for this brilliant idea!
These look fantastic Pam, and I like that they aren't greasy. Sometimes a grilled sandwich can be too greasy and that's a turn-off for me.
Those look really good.. I wonder if that is the sandwich George Costanza took to bed with him? LOL where did that come from! lol Keep it up Pam. Love love love your blog!
