Sesame-Soy Green Bean Sauté
I wanted a light and healthy side dish to pair with the Asian-style chicken I was making for dinner. I grabbed some green beans and simply sautéed them in sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper. Once they were crisp-tender, I tossed in some minced garlic and soy sauce. Simple, quick, and tasty – my kind of side dish.
How to Make a Sesame-Soy Green Bean Sauté
Heat the sesame oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the green beans, crushed red pepper flakes, and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4-5 minutes or until crisp-tender and vibrant green. Add the minced garlic, and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Add the soy sauce and stir to evenly coat the green beans. Sprinkle the tops with toasted sesame seeds. Serve & enjoy.

- ½ lb green beans ends trimmed
- Dash of crushed red pepper flakes
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Using sesame oil to stir fry those green beans must make a great difference. It surely looks very appetizing!
I love sesame oil and love this recipe:)
Green beans are a favorite vegetable in my house, and the Asian flavors in this recipe sound delicious. I am crossing my fingers that you will post the chicken recipe, too!
This looks delicious! I love green beans and sesame oil. I have been meaning to ask for a while but may I share some of your recipes on my Monday food posts? I would use my own photos and also words, while providing a link to your blog. Thanks for considering my request.
You picked a winner for a light side dish to your Asian chicken main dish. I love green beans at the Chinese restaurants. We often order a plate of them.
you know you always do such a good job of making veggies truly edible.
no one really does that anymore, so hats off to you.
You sure made green beans taste good.
Soy sauce is mentioned in the instructions but not in the ingredient list. Is it to taste? Or do you use a specific amount?
Lyz,
Thanks for letting me know! I just corrected the recipe.
