Sesame Snow Peas
I wanted a simple side dish to pair with the Korean beef lettuce wraps that I was serving for dinner recently. I had some snow peas in the refrigerator and decided to sauté them with a bit of sesame oil, coconut oil, and minced garlic, then I simply seasoned them with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper. These sesame snow peas were quick, easy, and so tasty! We all really loved the flavor combination of the oils and thought these sesame snow peas were really delicious and they paired nicely with the lettuce wraps.
How to Make Sesame Snow Peas
Heat the sesame oil and the coconut oil together in a large skillet. Add the snow peas and toss to coat evenly. Cook, stirring often, for 3 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Season the sesame snow peas with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste.
Pour into a serving bowl and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and black sesame seeds, to taste. Serve immediately. Enjoy.

YUM! Thought they were called garden peas..or are they the same thing?
Hi Angie,
Snow peas are flat while sugar snap or garden peas are thick with large peas inside. Here is a link that goes into detail about their differences.

That looks terrific! I love sugar snap peas and snow peas with garlic, and I imagine the addition of sesame would be great.
This looks like a great side dish. Love Asian flavors.
Pam I love sesame and these looks beautiful too!
Your sesame peas sound like the perfect pairing and added a nice color to your plate, I’m sure.
what a great preparation! sesame seeds are becoming quite useful to me–do the black ones taste any different that the white?
We eat a lot of snowpeas here in Asia, we put it in a lot of food as its easy to cook and tasty as well. You should try t sautee it with beef or shrimp.
