Green Beans with Mushrooms and Shallots

Green Beans with Mushrooms and Shallots

I was in the mood for a juicy steak and loaded twice-baked potatoes recently, and decided to make this easy green beans with mushrooms and shallots recipe as the side dish. It was an extremely simple recipe to make, had very little cleanup, and tasted fantastic. This easy green bean recipe went really well with the rest of the meal, and my family loved them.

Green Beans with Mushrooms and Shallots

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 8 oz button mushrooms, sliced

How to Make Green Beans with Mushrooms and Shallots:

Add the green beans to a large pot of well-salted boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking and to retain the bright green color. Set aside.

Heat the butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and let them cook (without stirring) for 3-4 minutes; stir and add the shallots to the skillet.

Cook the shallots and mushrooms for 2 minutes before adding the minced garlic and green beans.

Cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute or until the green beans are nice and hot. Season with sea salt and pepper, to taste. Serve and enjoy.
